Free Starter Guide for parents of Children with ASD
This simple guide will help you take the first right steps after your child’s autism diagnosis. You do not need to do everything. You only need to start with the right things consistently.
1. ACCEPT YOUR CHILD AND START EARLY- Early intervention changes brain development. The sooner you start, the better the speech, learning, and independence. Your child is unique. Focus on progress, not comparison.
2. BUILD A SIMPLE DAILY ROUTINE- Children with autism feel safe with structure. Fix wake-up time, meals, play, therapy, and sleep. Routine reduces meltdowns and improves attention.
3. FOCUS ON THESE 5 FOUNDATIONS-
• Eye contact and attention
• Communication and gestures
• Body awareness and movement
• Sensory regulation
• Play and social interaction
4. REDUCE SCREEN TIME- Screens delay speech and attention. Replace with play, music,
outdoor movement, and interaction.
5. SIMPLE HOME ACTIVITIES-
• Bubble play for eye contact
• Rolling ball for interaction
• Jumping and swinging for sensory regulation
• Naming objects during daily routines
• Singing rhymes with actions
6. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF- Calm parents create calm children. Sleep well, exercise, and take short breaks. Your mental health is part of your child’s therapy.

Consistency and calm will shape your child’s future.
